What is Ayurveda? Science of Life, Healing Science
Ayurvedic diagnosis emphasizes day-to-day observation that detects an imbalance before signs of disease are present. Imagine having the powers of observation so acute, that you are able to sense toxins by being aware of your pulse, tounge, face, eyes, nails and lips. You would be a master of Ayurvedic medicine.
Ayurveda is not only a healing science, but also a philosophy and a religion as well. It concerns itself. The word in sanskrit translates to "science of life". Ayurveda is indigenous to India, where it has been practiced for over 5,000 years. As opposed to tradicional medicine, Ayurveda teaches that the individual has the power to heal him or herself.
Ayurveda teaches that man has four biological and spiritual instincts.
- Religious
- Financial
- Procreative
- Freedom
Good health is essential for the fulfullment of these instincts, and is the said to be the basis of happiness and growth.
